INNOVEX evaluated the extent of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contamination inside a historic building located within the Point Reyes National Seashore. This work included performing assessments and developed sampling and analysis plans and a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) to characterize and remediate spills and leaks stemming from historically significant electronic equipment. Following remediation, INNOVEX staff characterized and properly disposed of impacted materials and remediation derived wastes under Hazardous Waste manifest, and verified that the cleanup action was successful in accordance the Toxic Substance Control Act (40 CFR 761 Subpart G). Upon successful completion of the PCB cleanup and removal project, a contract modification was issued to rewire historically significant electrical equipment and shore-to-ship transmitters that had used PCB coated wiring.
